Senior Data Platform and Governance Manager

Overview

We are seeking an ambitious, business-driven professional to accelerate our transition from a light data platform to an enterprise data platform by 2027. This initiative aims to enable exploration of complex use cases, make a significant impact in the healthcare and diagnostics industry, and democratize data access for thousands of employees worldwide.

The scope of the data platform includes technology centers, commercial operations, supply chain, corporate functions, and sales affiliates.

The Data Platform and Governance Manager will lead an outsourced data platform team, leverage these resources effectively, and serve as the primary point of contact for technology and data governance questions.

The data platform will be managed as a digital product with specific objectives and key results, with continuous improvements based on evolving business needs, technological trends, and non-functional requirements.

The data governance aspect involves establishing a framework and processes to empower data owners and ensure data is treated as a valuable and secure asset, in collaboration with other team members.

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities :

• Oversee the development and operation of the data platform, including SLA reviews with outsourcing partners, security audits, and monitoring platform health metrics.
• Collaborate with internal teams to create and communicate a global roadmap for the enterprise data platform, covering AWS compute, Data Lake, cloud data catalog, visualization tools, AI / ML platforms, and cloud components.
• Lead the outsourced data platform team by prioritizing the product backlog based on resource availability and stakeholder needs.
• Establish governance structures and processes to manage stakeholder interests in the data platform.
• Document the architecture and operational procedures of the data platform.
• Define and implement a comprehensive data governance strategy, including :
• Designing an organization-wide data governance framework
• Setting data quality standards and policies in collaboration with analytics teams
• Automating and auditing governance policies
• Ensuring compliance with GDPR and other regulations
• Managing data access, lifecycle, and quality processes

Networking / Key Relationships :

• Internal : IT teams, Business stakeholders, Data owners, Analytics leads
• External : Outsourced platform providers, cloud service partners (e.g., AWS)

Qualifications

Minimum Knowledge & Experience :

• Experience as a product owner or leader of complex data products
• Experience managing technical teams or outsourced services
• Expertise in cloud-based data and analytics stacks (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Hands-on experience with data platforms and analytics tools
• Experience implementing data governance policies in corporate environments

Skills & Capabilities :

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Familiarity with agile methodologies
• Structured problem-solving approach
• Ability to prioritize tasks across multiple departments
• Proficiency in English

Travel Requirements :

• Up to 30 days annually, mainly in the USA and Europe
