Your role and work environment:

We are looking for a talented Site Reliability Engineer to join our SRE Expert Unit.
Our mission is to ensure the reliability and scalability of ING’s platforms, delivering the best customer experience.
We work closely with product teams to help them achieve their availability goals by developing and applying SRE practices together.
And because the future of reliability is evolving fast, we are looking for someone who is keen to learn and apply modern techniques—including AI and automation—to make our systems smarter and more resilient.

Your key responsibilities

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will:

• Detect & Repair: Strengthen observability, improve incident response, and contribute to blameless postmortems.
• Prevent & Prioritize: Support capacity management, reliability testing, and error budget policies.
• Share Knowledge: Help spread awareness of SRE principles and best practices across teams.
• Drive Improvements: Identify reliability gaps and provide hands‑on technical assistance to service owners.
• Define Metrics: Contribute to reporting on reliability, availability, efficiency, security, and scalability.
• Foster Observability Culture: Promote optimal monitoring and proactive alerting strategies.
• Collaborate: Work closely with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures.
• Learn from Incidents: Help implement automation and code‑based solutions to prevent recurrence.

Proven technical skills

• Strong understanding of system design principles, distributed systems, and cloud/on‑prem infrastructure.
• Knowledge of observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, AppDynamics, Dynatrace).
• Solid experience in Linux, configuration management (Ansible), and container orchestration (Kubernetes/OpenShift).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure‑as‑Code, and scripting (Python/Go).

Estamos buscando a una persona Site Reliability Engineer con talento para unirse a nuestra SRE Expert Unit.
Nuestra misión es garantizar la fiabilidad y escalabilidad de las plataformas de ING, ofreciendo la mejor experiencia a la clientela.

Tus responsabilidades principales

Como persona Site Reliability Engineer, tendrás entre tus funciones:

• Detectar y reparar: Reforzar la observabilidad, mejorar la respuesta a incidentes y contribuir a postmortems sin culpabilización.
• Prevenir y priorizar: Apoyar la gestión de capacidad, las pruebas de fiabilidad y las políticas de error budget.
• Compartir conocimiento: Ayudar a difundir los principios y buenas prácticas de SRE entre los equipos.
• Impulsar mejoras: Identificar brechas de fiabilidad y ofrecer asistencia técnica práctica a quienes sean responsables de los servicios.
• Definir métricas: Contribuir al reporte de fiabilidad, disponibilidad, eficiencia, seguridad y escalabilidad.
• Fomentar cultura de observabilidad: Promover monitorización óptima y estrategias de alertas proactivas.
• Colaborar: Trabajar estrechamente con los equipos de desarrollo para mejorar servicios mediante pruebas rigurosas y procedimientos de despliegue.
• Aprender de los incidentes: Ayudar a implementar automatización y soluciones basadas en código para evitar recurrencias.

• Conocimiento de herramientas de observabilidad (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, AppDynamics, Dynatrace).
• Experiencia demostrada en Linux, gestión de configuración (Ansible) y orquestación de contenedores (Kubernetes/OpenShift).
• Familiaridad con pipelines CI/CD, Infraestructura como Código y scripting (Python/Go).
• Capacidad para diagnosticar problemas complejos en todo el stack.

Colaboración y comunicación

• Habilidades interpersonales para trabajar eficazmente con equipos diversos.
• Capacidad para traducir conceptos técnicos en acciones aplicables.

Deseable

• Experiencia en desarrollo de software (Java u otro lenguaje similar).
• Conocimiento de normativa del sector financiero (DORA).
• Experiencia trabajando con ITIL.
• Interés por IA y automatización — no imprescindible, pero muy valorado.
• Capacidad para aprender rápido y aplicar nuevas técnicas para mejorar la fiabilidad.
