Overview

We’re hiring for the role of SEO Manager (English Native) at HappyScribe. This is a freelance opportunity to start, with real potential to grow into a long-term position. Remote setup with a clear content roadmap and collaboration with our expert SEO and Acquisition team.

Company: HappyScribe — a 100% bootstrapped and profitable startup based in Barcelona. We help media teams, creators, and educators transcribe, dub, translate and subtitle smarter. We are 39 people and growing thoughtfully.

What You Will Do
  • Support keyword and topic cluster research across HappyScribe’s core product areas.
  • Create SEO content briefs and articles aligned with our roadmap.
  • Identify link-building opportunities through:
  • ABC link exchanges
  • Guest post outreach
  • Journalist and PR research (using tools or manual outreach)
  • Conduct performance tracking and surface optimization ideas.
What You Will Bring

Must-haves:

  • 1–2 years of experience in an SEO, content, or marketing support role.
  • Knowledge of SEO principles (e.g., keyword intent, internal linking, meta data).
  • Comfortable using keyword tools like Ahrefs, SEMrush, or Google Keyword Planner.
  • Strong research and organizational skills.
  • Native English fluency and great writing skills.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Familiarity with content briefs and writing outlines.
  • Experience doing outreach or link-building (email, forums or social).
  • Interest in media, subtitling, or language tech.
  • Familiarity with Notion, Google Sheets, or CMS platforms.

Interview Process
  • Intro Chat: 20-minute conversation with our Talent team to learn about you and your goals.
  • SEO Interview: Meet with Niek, our SEO Manager, to discuss your experience and approach to SEO.
  • Final Deep Dive: Discuss with either André (CEO) or Yann (CFO and former SEO Manager) to explore motivation and fit.
