Overview

Senior Software Engineer – C#, .NET. Explore Information Services, a Solera company, is a leading provider of risk management information to insurance companies, government agencies and commercial fleets. Our digital solutions monitor driver behavior, identify location-based risk, and improve fleet asset performance. This role focuses on implementing and maintaining code to support our driver monitoring systems, collaborating with Business Analysts, Software Developers, and Software Quality Assurance Analysts to understand requirements and deliver high-quality software following Solera’s development standards and best practices. Work may involve legacy client systems as well as design and implementation of microservices and web applications. This is a full-time in-office role located in Westlake, TX off Highway 114.

What You’ll Do
  • New Product Development: Write new software that conforms to Solera's business needs and best practices.
  • Collaborate with Product and Development teams to ensure proper application design and implementation.
  • Participate in SCRUM, code reviews, and other team meetings.
  • Analyze system specifications and translate system requirements to manageable and measurable tasks.
  • Maintenance and Bug Fixes: Modify existing software to fix bugs while mindful of performance impacts; address performance improvements and refactor accordingly.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems; analyze and maintain current applications and processes.
  • Mentor and coach junior developers.
What You’ll Bring

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
  • 4-6 years of software development experience
  • 3-5 years of C# experience in .NET Framework or .NET Core
  • Knowledge of version control (TFS or Git)
  • 2-4 years of relational databases experience, SQL Server
  • Ability to understand a complex infrastructure environment
  • Fluent in English both written and verbal
  • Located within commuting distance of our Westlake office

Nice To Have

  • Prior experience in and understanding of Agile development
  • Experience with testing frameworks like NUnit, xUnit or equivalent
  • API (REST, SOAP)
  • Advanced parsing of data exchange formats (XML, JSON, fixed width, delimited, etc.)
  • .NET front-end experience in technologies such as .NET Web Forms, Razor Pages
  • Experience with JavaScript, jQuery, etc.
  • Architecture patterns like MVC or MVVM
  • Experience with Test Driven Development
  • Experience with Mocking Frameworks like MOQ or Rhino
