The Head of Project Sales is responsible for leveraging SMA's largest existing or potential customers to develop their local pipeline of solar, storage, and hydrogen projects with SMA equipment and services. This role involves understanding various stakeholders within the account, their decision-making processes, and influencing these decisions towards SMA. The person can establish contractual frameworks for direct or indirect procurement to secure long-term business for SMA.

This role includes collaboration with the global key account team and internal resources such as market intelligence, business development, contract management, legal, engineering services, and the local team in Spain.

Additionally, the Head of Project Sales will be responsible for expanding existing business in the Spanish market and introducing new high-profile prospects to SMA’s portfolio (Large Scale). The role is considered a stepping stone towards a director position within approximately one year.

Main Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the global key account team
  • Identify, engage, and secure relationships with key decision-makers within customer organizations
  • Understand and influence customer decision-making processes both internationally and locally
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders globally to ensure smooth sales processes
  • Understand customer needs and project requirements
  • Review customer specifications and tenders, and coordinate responses
  • Create offers respecting approval matrices
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of SMA products and applications
  • Manage the entire customer asset lifecycle
  • Oversee global account profitability
  • Manage the project pipeline and sales process using Salesforce
  • Transition to a director position after positive evaluation and meeting targets, leading the division in Spain
