As a GL Accountant, you should be able to perform the following responsibilities under general direction and minimal supervision, in accordance with all applicable government laws, regulations, and ASP policies, procedures, and guidelines:
- Preparation of US GAAP and local statutory financial statements for assigned legal entities, including GAAP to Stat adjustments, supporting entity FS audits, replying to auditors' queries, providing support, and ensuring alignment with timelines and due dates.
- Monthly closing processes, including but not limited to:
- Standard and non-standard monthly journal postings
- Intercompany invoices and reconciliation of month-end balances with regions
- Month-end accruals preparation and posting
- Prepayments and deferred costs entries
- Knowledge of Fixed Assets and inventory processes
- Other standard and non-standard journal entries during the month and at month-end
- Trend analysis, variance investigation, and issue resolution
- Maintaining monthly balance sheet reconciliations and reviews, including GL reconciliations in Blackline and aged item resolution
- Preparation of interim financial statements and statistical surveys for assigned entities
- Payroll journal preparation and booking, liaising with payroll team for information and variance explanations
- Driving process improvements and ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and GAAP requirements
- Adhoc duties as required
- Communicating business issues or opportunities to management
- Advanced proficiency in SAP (Financial Module) and Excel
- Interest in AI technologies
To succeed in this role, you should:
- Be familiar with internal and external audits, able to understand queries or seek advice from managers, and work with deadlines and targets
- Understand compliance and SOX requirements
- Be familiar with VAT mechanisms, including EU and non-EU transactions, assist with VAT return preparations, and maintain VAT compliance processes
- Manage workload effectively during peak periods
We are looking for:
- At least 3 years of experience in a GL accounting role
- Experience with statutory accounting, financial statement preparation, and audits
- Proficiency with SAP and Excel
- Proficiency in English; additional European languages are a plus
- Experience with PowerBI, Python, and AI is advantageous
