Job Description

Functional Title : Client Onboarding Specialist

Reports to : Regional Head of Client Onboarding

On-site role

Outline of position

The primary responsibilities of this position are:

  1. Supporting the client onboarding process by coordinating the key steps to ensure a seamless transition from Sales to Business-As-Usual (BAU);
  2. Act as a first point of contact for client queries relating to onboarding matters;
  3. Coordinating client adoptions, account openings, review of fund offering documentation and legal agreements, internal system set ups, and project planning;
  4. Assisting in project coordination, working with internal teams including Service Delivery, Sales, Legal, Compliance, and Technology teams;
  5. Providing regular status updates to clients and internal stakeholders, holding weekly project calls, and maintaining project plans to track progress;
  6. Supporting the drafting and review of client service agreements;
  7. Interacting with the Legal Department on template management and control;
  8. Assisting in the internal review process across product and service lines within fund administration, depository, and other areas;
  9. Providing day-to-day onboarding advice across all Apex Group business lines to meet client needs and maintain good relationships through active communication and teamwork;
  10. Supporting the development and execution of ad hoc projects;
  11. Supporting the wider onboarding team as required. Reports to the Regional Head of Client Onboarding.

Required Skills

  1. A degree, preferably in Law, Business, Finance, or a related field;
  2. 1-3 years of experience in the investment funds industry;
  3. Understanding of the funds industry, fund structures, domiciles, and regulations is an advantage;
  4. Familiarity with fund structuring issues, legal terminology, and fund service agreements;
  5. Knowledge of Client KYC requirements is an advantage;
  6. Highly motivated, self-starter capable of working semi-supervised in a fast-paced environment;
  7. Strong team spirit, enthusiasm, and ability to build client relationships;
  8. Client-facing experience;
  9. Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a client servicing mindset;
  10. Professional-level English (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus.
