G-STAR has implemented different software applications supporting the business worldwide which require not only state of the art software solutions and processes in all business areas, but also integrating them and G-STAR partners, portals, vendors and customers.

The Business Applications Consultant (Webmethods) will participate in all ICT activities related to supporting those solutions and partners integrating them from the functional and technical point of view, working under the supervision and directives of the Head of Business Applications and Data Integration.

The Consultant will be responsible for the full systems lifecycle from requirements gathering through implementation of functional solutions.

The Consultant will support the other team members in achieving it and work closely with our Business and other IT Teams. In this role, you must demonstrate individual functional and professional knowledge to ensure that the work products and deliverables are of the highest caliber to ensure business as well as our customers' satisfaction.

YOUR TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

You will participate in the planned projects and will be responsible for the proper set up and use of the systems. Furthermore, you know the (im) possibilities of the application and advise the company on how to use it in the most efficient way.

You will participate in webMethods implementation & rollout projects or webMethods support & maintenance projects but also other applications supporting our Business when it comes to integration of different software solutions or business partners.

Based on user requirements analysis, you will prepare functional design and specifications, system configuration, perform relevant testing and deployment of the designed business solution.

You understand configuration dependencies and interrelationships between separate functional modules of WebMethods and provide expertise into the definition and resolution of issues in this area with this knowledge.

Here's a description of your tasks:

  • Analyzing the workload;
  • Owning the solutions developed in all areas for which your team is responsible, paying special attention to the integration with other business solutions and applications;
  • Assisting and collaborating with other team members and members of other applications and areas within ICT;
  • Participating in WebMethods implementation projects reporting to the Head of Business Applications and Data Integration;
  • Gathering customer requirements, judging them on feasibility and impact within the (standard) WebMethods possibilities;
  • Developing solutions and implementing the changes (WebMethods customizations and programming within standard);
  • Answering user questions and resolving incidents;
  • Keeping standards in system changes through review, advice and acceptance of the specifications of the proposed system changes;
  • Performing functional testing and user acceptance test;
  • Releasing management;
  • Establishing and maintaining release (user) documentation.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • You ideally have a university degree in Engineering or Computer Science;
  • Minimum of 3 years of WebMethods (or similar middleware) experience including hands-on functional configuration, facilitation and communication to customers and stakeholders;
  • Experience working in a global WebMethods (or similar) environment;
  • Working knowledge in EDI and TN (Trading Network);
  • Experience in handling XML, Flat File, EDI Standards;
  • Experience working on Full Life Cycle WebMethods (or similar) implementations WebMethods certification is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge on transport protocols - AS2, HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, SFTP;
  • Knowledge in developing the web services (SOAP and REST);
  • Knowledge in Service Oriented Architecture and Web Services;
  • Good understanding on the principles of ESB, SOA, Event-Based programming;
  • Excellent debugging and analytical skills;
  • Ability to develop good technical designs with all the required considerations - scalability, performance, architecture;
  • Design solutions leveraging industry's best practices;
  • Good communication skills, with excellent English proficiency.
