Overview

Assistant Manager (at the rank of Executive Officer) in the Faculty of Social Sciences (Ref: 533127) is a two-year fixed-term appointment, with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. The appointment will commence as soon as possible.

Work type: Full-time. Department: Faculty of Social Sciences. Location: Hong Kong.

Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative and secretarial support for the planning, execution, and development of a range of student enrichment activities, including workshops, hackathons, programmes, and career development initiatives.
  • Coordinate with faculty members, external trainers, industry partners, and students to ensure effective implementation of these activities.
  • Assist in the coordination of academic programmes, provide secretarial support to committees, and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Good Bachelor’s degree with at least 4–6 years of supervisory work experience, preferably in tertiary education institutions.
  • Experience in programme or event management would be an advantage.
  • Competent communicator with excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua).
  • Strong interpersonal, organisational, communication and problem-solving skills; attentive to details.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to multi-task under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
Terms of Appointment

The appointee will be on a two-year fixed-term basis, with contract-end gratuity and retirement benefits scheme contributions, subject to satisfactory performance. The contract is subject to renewal.
