Job summary
A leading European data centre provider in Darmstadt is seeking a Medior Network Engineer. The role involves deploying and maintaining secure data center network infrastructure, automating tasks, and troubleshooting networking issues. Candidates should have experience with Juniper platforms and a desire to learn VXLAN/EVPN architectures. A proactive attitude and fluency in English are essential. The role offers a competitive salary of €75,000 gross per year and a 10% on-call allowance.

Responsibilities:
- Deploy, configure, and maintain scalable, secure data center network infrastructure (Juniper MX, QFX)
- Assist in building and supporting VXLAN/EVPN network fabrics for multi-tenant environments
- Automate routine network tasks and configurations with Ansible
- Troubleshoot IP networking issues (BGP, OSPF, MPLS) and support high availability
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (SysOps, DevOps, DC Operations) to ensure smooth service delivery
- Contribute ideas and support continuous improvement of network operations
Requirements:
- Solid experience as a Network Engineer in a data center or service provider environment
- Hands-on knowledge of Juniper platforms and good understanding of IP networking
- Some experience with VXLAN/EVPN architectures (or a strong desire to learn)
- Familiarity with Ansible or similar network automation tools
- Linux and basic scripting (Python) skills are a plus
- Proactive, eager to learn, and comfortable working in English
