Job summary

A regional educational institution is seeking a qualified individual to teach Trades knowledge to youth in grades 8-12 in Dawson Creek and Chetwynd. This role requires a minimum of five years of experience in carpentry, plumbing, or related fields, and a commitment to student motivation and safety in the classroom. Candidates must have a valid driver's license and be prepared to pass a Police Information Check prior to contract start. Opportunities run for two months in July and August.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years experience working in one or more trades.
  • Ability to understand and teach safety in the classroom.
  • Commitment to student motivation and success.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Trades knowledge to youth grades 8-12.
  • Ensure safety standards are met in the teaching environment.
  • Collaborate with other educators.

Skills

Experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, or millwright
Understanding of safety in the classroom
Student motivation and success
Ability to collaborate as an effective team member
Current valid driver's license
Knowledge of rules and regulations of specific trade

Education
