The DRCC Pharmacy Technician provides pharmacy services to oncology patients including: preparing safe and accurate sterile antineoplastic drug doses; preparing other dosage forms for use in the treatment of oncology patients; dispensing clinical trial medications as appropriate and dispensing outpatient prescriptions through the retail pharmacy service; assisting in the acquisition of drugs for the chemotherapy pharmacy satellite and retail pharmacy including maintaining adequate stock levels and conducting inventory; assisting patients in getting medication coverage and accessing compassionate drugs; other duties as assigned.

• Registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) as a Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT);
• Graduate of a CCAPP (Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs) Accredited Pharmacy Technician Education Program;
• Minimum 2 years experience in a hospital setting including sterile compounding is preferred;
• Recent experience in chemotherapy drug preparation and safe handling of antineoplastic agents is preferred;
• Knowledge of Epic is preferred;
• Proven working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel are preferred;
• Kroll computer experience and understanding of third party prescription billing is preferred;
• Proficient keyboarding skills;
• Proven effective interpersonal and communication skills;
• Demonstrated strong organizational skills involving ability to multi-task and prioritize workload;
• Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgement and to assess situations and problems efficiently and effectively;

• Must have a satisfactory performance record;
• Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and participation in regular in-service education sessions.

The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and OPSEU Local 348.
