Job Title: Avionics Technician

Job Description

As an Avionics Technician, you will work on the avionics components of Twin Otter aircraft. Your role will involve installing avionics parts, wiring components, crimping, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting equipment. You may also perform bench work as needed and will receive training specific to the aircraft. You will be assigned to one of the three primary cells: Fuselage, Panel, or Wings.

Responsibilities

• Install avionics parts into aircraft.

• Wire components, crimp, and splice wires.

• Test and troubleshoot avionics equipment.

• Perform bench work as required.

• Read and interpret blueprints.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of experience in avionics systems.

• Proficiency in troubleshooting and assembly.

• Ability to crimp, terminate, and splice wires.

• Soldering skills.

• Experience with Garmin systems.

• Avionics license.

Work Environment

This role is located at a utility aircraft manufacturer in NE Calgary, operating from five buildings near the airport. The facility is an AMO where final modifications are completed. You will work consistently with a team of four and a team lead, using provided tools on site. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 6AM to 2:30PM, with the potential for flexible shifts including weekends. Starting in mid-October, there may be an additional shift from 2:30PM to 11PM.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Calgary, Alberta.

Ability to work as an independent contractor.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
