Job description

Ledcor Highways is now hiring skilled Truck and Coach Technicians/Heavy Duty Mechanics for our Highway Maintenance team at multiple locations in Ontario.

In this position you will perform maintenance and repair of heavy construction and maintenance equipment such as plow and sanding trucks, loaders, and light support gear used to keep roads in your community safe.

Shop Locations
  • Sault Ste. Marie
  • Wawa
Rates & Premiums
  • Mechanics will be paid a skilled trade premium of $5/hour in the following geographic locations in Ontario: Agawa, Wawa, Hornepayne, Chapleau, Hinkler, White River.
Work Conditions
  • Monday to Friday work week 10‑hour shifts.
  • Shop based with travel to various field operations required.
  • Employer paid benefits provided by CLAC including health, dental, and RSP plans.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Perform maintenance and repair of heavy construction and maintenance equipment such as plow and sanding trucks, loaders, and light support gear.
  • Follow manufacturer and internal maintenance programs and inspection procedures.
  • Engage and participate in Ledcor safety policies and procedures.
  • Complete maintenance records and documentation as required.
Qualifications
  • Must have a 310T Truck and Coach ticket from a recognized provincial authority or be registered in an apprenticeship and close to completing.
  • Previous experience working with heavy civil construction and/or highway paving and highway maintenance equipment (i.e., snowplows) would be an asset.
  • 421A Heavy Equipment Technician ticket is an asset.
  • A valid driver’s license and ability to provide a 3‑year driver’s abstract.
  • Ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions which may be accompanied by sketches and diagrams.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to work under minimal supervision.
