This will be a remote role to start, with plans to transition to hybrid in-office 2x/week located in downtown Toronto.

We’re looking for a thoughtful and curious Software Engineer II to join our growing engineering team in Toronto. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on our core product. You’ll work closely with product, design, and engineering teams to build secure, scalable, and delightful payment experiences for both restaurants and diners around the world.

• Build and Innovate: Partner with senior engineers and product managers to design, develop, and evolve our systems. You\'ll take ownership of features throughout their entire lifecycle, from the initial idea to development, testing, and making improvements in production.
• Champion Code Quality: Contribute to a culture of excellence by writing code that is clear, tested, and easy for others to build upon. You’ll share your knowledge and elevate the team through helpful and constructive code reviews.
• Enhance Our Tools: Look for creative ways to improve our development experience, whether it\'s by enhancing our tools, boosting test coverage, or refining our code structure.
• Take Pride in Your Work: Help us ensure our systems are reliable and performant. You’ll use your curiosity to find automated ways to maintain production quality, working with monitoring and alerting tools to keep our services healthy.
• Connect and Collaborate: Act as a key communication link for your projects, keeping the team updated and proactively reaching out to clear roadblocks. We believe the best solutions come from working together.
• Grow Your Expertise: Become a go-to person for at least one area of our codebase, developing a deep understanding that you can share with the team.

• Solid Foundation: 2-5 years of professional experience developing with C# and the .NET framework (we use .NET 8+).
• API & Database Skills: Comfortable building RESTful APIs and have worked with both relational (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.
• Cloud Experience: Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS. Familiarity with services like Amazon S3 for object storage or AWS Lambda for serverless functions is a strong plus.
• Modern DevOps Mindset: Hands-on experience with Docker and an interest in deploying applications on Kubernetes (K8s).
• Quality & Observability: Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., StatsD, Grafana, ELK stack) and an appreciation for observability.
• Collaborative Spirit: Positive, self-starting attitude and ability to work well with others with flexibility and an open mind.
• Education: A Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent real-world experience.

There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. The range for this Toronto, Canada based role is $100,000-$130,000 CAD.

This role is eligible to be considered for an annual bonus and equity grant.
