Your future role on our team

To pursue project and client development in the Sept-Îles region, BBA wants to bolster its local multidisciplinary team. Working closely with our offices in Labrador City, Montréal, and Mont-Saint-Hilaire, this team is actively involved in developing the Sept-Îles region and executing various projects in the mining, metals, and energy sectors. BBA's electrical engineering teams are distinguished among Côte-Nord clients for their cutting-edge technical expertise, combined with a strong commitment and understanding of operating and maintaining industrial power systems.

By joining our team, you’ll have the opportunity to assist our industrial clients in energy and mining markets with their operations and projects. Your responsibilities will include performing site surveys and tests on high- and medium-voltage electrical equipment, participating in commissioning new equipment and systems, and supporting various project stages. You will also be responsible for ensuring quality professional services and maintaining strong client relationships.

1. Address safety issues during the design phase.
2. Lead and carry out electrical engineering projects for industrial clients in Québec and Canada.
3. Participate in multidisciplinary projects as a senior electrical expert.
4. Prepare and supervise the production of plans and specifications for engineering projects.
5. Supervise or participate in preparing and drafting technical study reports.
6. Manage technical projects (project teams, design reviews, costs, schedules).
7. Ensure the transfer of technical knowledge to young engineers.
8. Lead and participate in preparing proposals.
9. Prepare material take-offs and studies.
10. Work on various stages of major projects, depending on the level of engineering involved.

Overview of certifications and job requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec
• At least five years of professional experience, mainly in major industrial and multidisciplinary projects
• Technical skills in medium- and low-voltage industrial power distribution
• Experience managing a team (2-5 resources)
• Ability to draft technical documents
• Bilingual (English and French), spoken and written
• Availability to work at client sites and offices in Québec and across Canada
• Experience in low- and medium-voltage industrial power distribution design
• Solid knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code
• Assets: knowledge of ETAP and AutoCAD; OPEX experience; site supervision experience; knowledge of foreign electrical codes and standards
