The Job

We seek an experienced Senior Mobile Engineer (IOS and/or Android) to join the cross-organization effort for data consistency by architecting SDKs that unify multiple forms of data submission across all mobile platforms available for our streaming products. Your primary focus will be on the IOS and Android platforms, with opportunities to extend your work onto our other platforms.

You will enable engineering teams, operations analysts, and site reliability engineers to make sense of streams of data for millions of concurrent users so we can understand what is going wrong and mitigate those problems before they become widespread outages. You will help us build out the libraries and services that make it easy for engineers to collect data in a consistent way, and work with a wide group of stakeholders.

The Daily

• Develop cross platform libraries for IOS and Android devices using Swift and Kotlin to enable data collection and submission to our data platform
• Provide subject-matter-expertise to your team as it relates to mobile development best-practices
• Operate independently to solve engineering problems
• Hold yourself and your team to high standards while maintaining friendly, respectful relationships
• Be passionate about software engineering with a strong sense of ownership for the code that you and your team write

The Essentials

• 4-5+ years professional experience building mobile applications in either Kotlin or Swift
• A solid understanding of common software data structures and algorithms
• Be a quick learner that can leverage surrounding resources to solve their problems
• Passion for problem solving through software with a strong sense of ownership for the code that you and your team write, maintaining a high bar of quality
• Desire for self-improvement proactively seeking suggestions and feedback

The Nice to Haves

• Experience using languages such as Java, C#, C++, Javascript, Typescript, Brightscript
• Experience with schema design and data modeling
• Experience working with low-latency, services operating in a 24x7 environment at scale
• Full-stack industry experience, or hands-on familiarity with both client and server technology
• Experience with Cloud Computing platforms (AWS, Google app engine, Azure, Kubernetes)
• Experience working on video streaming products a plus
