A healthcare organization in Edmonton seeks a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their surgical program team. You will use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to deliver high-quality care. Candidates must have completed a practical nurse education program, hold a valid LPN registration in Alberta, and have at least one year of experience in acute urology or general surgery. This position is temporary part-time with flexible shifts and competitive hourly rates.
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization.
Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active, or eligible for, registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Must have a minimum of 1 year of current acute urology and/or general surgery experience; must be flexible and adaptable to work in a fast paced and changing environment; must not have any restrictions to walk, push, pull, transfer, bend, and carry; N95 fit tested; MLL modules must be up to date or in progress; Connect Care trained. Must be able to work to full scope of practice and have all required LPN expanded scope of practice modules completed and up to date with all clinical competencies as required by the surgery program.
