Telecommunications Technician
Job summary
A telecommunications company in Brampton is looking for a skilled technician to inspect and repair cable signals. This is a full-time position requiring a college diploma and a valid driver's license. Experience in telecommunications is preferred. The job includes physical work and demands attention to detail. Competitive hourly pay of $36.50 is offered with permanent employment starting as soon as possible.
Qualifications
- Experience in telecommunications or similar role is an asset.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
- Ability to maintain physical condition for job requirements.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and test cable signals and related equipment.
- Repair cable signals and telecommunications equipment.
- Complete test and service reports.
Skills
Education
Salary: $36.50 hourly / 35 to 40 hours per week
Permanent Employment – Full time -Day- Starts as soon as possible
- Inspect and test cable signals and associated equipment
- Repair cable signals
- Diagnose and locate equipment faults, and adjust, replace or repair telecommunications equipment
- Complete and maintain test and service reports
- Determine nature, cause and location of trouble
- Climb and work aloft on poles, ladders or other support structures
- Maintain and repair aerial and underground transmission systems
- Repair or replace faulty cables, power suppliers and amplifiers
- Security and safety: Criminal record check
- Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
- Experience: Experience an asset
- On site: Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.
- Transportation/travel information: valid driver’s licence, Willing to travel
- Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Bending, crouching, kneeling
- Personal suitability: Efficient interpersonal skills, Judgement, Organized
