Job Overview

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment and systems. This role ensures that machinery operates efficiently and safely, reducing downtime and supporting overall production performance in a unionized manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct preventive maintenance on machinery and facility systems based on schedules and logs.
  • Diagnose equipment issues and perform mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic repairs.
  • Replace worn components, align and calibrate equipment as necessary.
  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and maintenance manuals.
  • Document all work performed and maintain accurate records.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns and production stoppages.
  • All other reasonable duties as assigned.
Key Skills & Competencies
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Troubleshooting: Ability to identify root causes of equipment failure and resolve efficiently.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Familiarity with PM techniques and reliability‑centered maintenance.
  • Safety Awareness: Consistently applies safety procedures and lock‑out/tag‑out protocols.
  • Documentation: Accurately records maintenance activities and equipment history.
  • Communication: Effectively reports issues and collaborates with team members.
  • Adaptability: Capable of handling diverse tasks in a dynamic production environment.

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Trade certification (Millwright or Electrician)
