Job summary
A prominent rehabilitation company in Ontario is looking for a Casual Part-Time Physiotherapy Assistant. The role involves assisting physiotherapists with treatment plans, conducting exercises, and maintaining communication about resident care. Ideal candidates have a PTA/OTA diploma or a degree in Kinesiology, with CPR certification and some experience in a long-term care setting. This position offers a supportive environment focused on improving the lives of seniors.
Qualifications
- PTA/OTA diploma, degree in Kinesiology or a similar healthcare background.
- Previous experience within an LTC setting is an asset.
- Standard First Aid & CPR Certification required.
- Valid Vulnerable Sector screening check (within 6 months) required.
- Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance required.
Responsibilities
- Assist the supervising physiotherapist in treatment plans.
- Perform prescribed treatments including gait training and exercises.
- Deliver safe exercise classes for residents.
- Prepare equipment and maintain treatment areas.
- Communicate with physiotherapist about resident treatments.
- Record daily treatments using a web-based system.

Lifemark Seniors Wellness is looking for a Casual Part‑Time Physiotherapy Assistant to join our growing team!
Status: Casual Part-Time
- Assist the supervising physiotherapist in performing various components of the treatment plans for individuals living in residential care communities
- Perform various treatments as prescribed and directed by the supervising Physiotherapist including but not limited to gait training, balance exercises, transfer training, range of motion, strengthening, application of modalities (i.e. heat, ice, ultrasound, TENS)
- Deliver dynamic, safe and therapeutically beneficial exercise classes for groups of residents
- Set up and prepare equipment and clean up after residents' treatments
- Ensure that the resident gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy
- Maintain regular ongoing communication with the physiotherapist regarding any changes or concerns about a resident's status or treatment interventions
- Record daily treatments using Seniors Wellness' proprietary, web‑based system
- PTA/OTA diploma, degree in Kinesiology or a similar healthcare background
- Previous experience within an LTC setting an asset.
