A healthcare diagnostics provider in Grande Prairie is seeking a Medical Laboratory Assistant I to deliver high-quality laboratory services. This role involves specimen handling, performing venipuncture and ECGs, along with providing effective client service. Alberta Precision Labs (APL) is looking for a Medical Laboratory Assistant I to work in a fast-paced, public-facing Patient Service Centre (PSC). This individual will be required to follow lab processes and procedures, perform venipuncture, ECG’s on registered outpatients and community patients Monitor wait times to ensure we are providing best service to our patients. Retention Allowance in place to an annual maximum of $3,000. This allowance is non-pensionable and is payable on an hourly basis for all hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.
Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
Previous Phlebotomy experience and ECG certification.
At least 2 years of recent phlebotomy experience. ECG experience.
