Job summary
A local restaurant in Cochrane is looking for a Kitchen Helper to maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen. Responsibilities include cleaning kitchen areas, handling supplies, and preparing ingredients. This is a permanent position requiring physical capability to perform tasks efficiently, and you will receive training. The work schedule is 30 to 40 hours per week.
Qualifications
- Must be able to clean and sanitize kitchen thoroughly.
- Physically capable of handling heavy loads and working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitize all kitchen areas and equipment.
- Handle cleaning products safely.
- Receive and store kitchen supplies appropriately.
- Dispose of kitchen garbage and trash regularly.
- Maintain clean and polished floors.
- Prepare vegetables and fruits for cooking.
Education
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Clean and sanitize kitchen including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances and equipment
- Handle and store cleaning products
- Receive, unpack and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards and other storage areas
- Remove kitchen garbage and trash
- Sweep, mop, wash and polish floors
- Wash, peel and cut vegetables and fruit
- Fast-paced environment
- Handling heavy loads
