Job Description

WHAT'S THE JOB?

The Remote Fire Camp Operations Driver ensures safe, reliable, and timely transportation for staff supporting fire camp operations, along with support in other camp activities as needed.

Working in remote bush camp settings, often hours from towns with limited or no cell reception or Wi-Fi, you must be comfortable sleeping outdoors in tents or lodges, depending on the site.

Key responsibilities include :

• Transport staff, supplies, and equipment safely within the fire basecamp.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections, maintain digital logs, and report issues immediately.
• Ensure vehicles are clean, fueled, and equipped with safety/emergency gear.
• Operate vehicles according to company policies and traffic laws, including bush road protocols.
• Maintain communication with dispatch using radio protocols.
• Use fuel cards responsibly; track mileage and work hours accurately.
• Support general labor tasks around the camp as needed.

Qualifications

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

• Valid F Class Driver's License with a clean driving record.
• Experience in transporting personnel.
• Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
• Experience driving in bush road conditions and knowledge of road safety.
• Familiarity with Bush Road Radio Protocols.
• Willingness to commit to a minimum 2-week rotation.
• Comfort working and staying in remote, rustic environments.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform physical tasks.

Work schedule and remuneration :

Minimum 2-3 week rotations in remote bush settings, working nights, weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Wages start at $22.50-$23.50 per hour.
