A technology services company in Toronto, Ontario, is seeking an experienced engineer to lead a large-scale Windows Active Directory and Microsoft/Office 365 migration. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in these environments and strong project management capabilities. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams and producing detailed documentation throughout the migration process.
We are seeking a highly skilled engineer with deep expertise in large-scale migration efforts. This role will lead all aspects of an organization s Windows Active Directory and Microsoft/Office 365 tenant migration. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical capabilities, excellent communication skills, and light project management experience.
Discover, document, plan, and execute all phases of a large-scale Windows Active Directory and Microsoft/Office 365 migration.
Migrate AD resources (users, groups, policies, endpoints) across domains/forests.
Migrate Microsoft/Office 365 data between tenants, including identities, mailboxes, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, and groups.
Migrate servers and associated applications across domains/forests.
Migrate shared data and permissions across environments.
Utilize automation via scripting, native Microsoft tools, and approved third-party utilities to streamline and standardize migration processes.
Apply security best practices to ensure data integrity, prevent resource co-mingling, and enforce migration scope.
Troubleshoot issues across identity, collaboration, and infrastructure layers during migration.
Provide clear written and verbal communication throughout all phases of the migration.
Produce high-quality documentation including discovery reports, migration plans, support guides, and steady-state turnover materials.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including security, networking, messaging, DevOps, and application development.
Engage stakeholders to gather requirements, present solutions, and manage expectations.
Serve as principal engineer for all aspects of the migration effort.
Lead and coordinate with other engineers and SMEs involved in specific migration components.
Plan and execute changes in accordance with change management processes.
Partner with assigned project managers to develop and adhere to detailed project plans.
