What your day to day will look like ?
- Perform mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repairs.
- Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance tasks.
- Complete shift inspections, examine machinery and equipment to detect and find irregularities and malfunctions, and complete work orders and parts requisitions.
- Enhance equipment performance, recommend and implement improvements, participate in design reviews, and understand and carry out preventive maintenance procedures.
- Responsible for troubleshooting of machinery to minimize downtime; acts upon an intense sense of urgency to on-floor calls and emergencies.
- Responsible for completing work scheduled in cooperation with all departments.
- Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts
- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery
- Operate PIV, hoisting and lifting devices, such as cranes, jacks.
- Operate machine tools, such as lathes and grinders, to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery.
- Work safely and productively to maximize quality, efficiency, and availability while minimizing maintenance costs and unscheduled downtime.
- Ensures that all required documentation is completed correctly and on time. i.e. Daily Time Sheets, pre-operational forms, preventative maintenance logs, corrective work orders, etc.
- Ability to multitask and manage shifting priorities.
- Performs any other job-related duties assigned.
The tools you need to be successful
- Industrial Maintenance Mechanic Millwright Certificate (433A)
- 3-5 Experience in manufacturing industry
- Strong skills in Machining, welding, Hydraulics, Pneumatics
- Ability to operate a variety of hand and machine tools (drills, mag drills, grinders, reciprocating saws, chop saws, band saws, lathes, and mills).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and hydraulic schematics
- Experience with fabrication and welding.
- Able to diagnose mechanical problems and expedite repair
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Excellent teamwork skills with self-starting abilitiesGood understanding of Occupational Health and Safety regulations and able to work both safely and efficiently
- Willing to work various shifts, including weekends, support overtime and on-call requests.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
