Job summary
Lifemark is seeking a Rehabilitation Assistant to support Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in providing treatment for seniors. The role involves assisting in treatment plans, maintaining safety in treatment areas, and ensuring effective communication with the therapy team. Ideal candidates will have a background in rehabilitation and experience in seniors' care.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a Seniors’ care setting preferred.
- Valid Vulnerable Sector screening check (within 6 months) required.
- Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance needed.
Responsibilities
- Assist supervising Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists for treatment.
- Perform treatments as prescribed by the supervising Physiotherapist.
- Maintain ongoing communication with PTs/OTs regarding resident status.
Skills
Education
- Provide assistance to supervising Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists for the treatment of Senior Wellness residents.
- Assist PTs / OTs in performing various components of the resident's treatment plan.
- Perform treatments as prescribed and directed by the supervising Physiotherapist.
- Set up, prepare, maintain equipment, and clean up after treatments (e.g., hot packs, ice, electrical modalities).
- Ensure the gym and treatment areas are safe and tidy.
- Maintain ongoing communication with PTs / OTs regarding any changes or concerns about a resident's status or treatments.
- Complete "Daily Treatment Records" as directed by the PT / OT.
Successful applicants will possess:
- Rehabilitation Assistant / Exercise Therapist / Physical Education academic background.
- Previous experience in a Seniors’ care setting is preferred.
- Reliable and independent.
- A valid Vulnerable Sector screening check (within 6 months).
- Proof of Tuberculin (2-Step Mantoux Test) clearance.
