As a Staff Product Designer at Samsara, you will architect product experiences across the organization, shaping Samsara’s long-term direction and unlocking significant business value. We’re looking for someone who is excited to impact the daily experience of our customers across industries such as transportation and logistics, construction, food and beverage, government and more. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Product and Engineering to identify customer needs, explore design solutions, and deliver value. You will also engage directly with customers and leverage their feedback throughout your process. You will be expected to guide strategy, navigate complexity, and ship well-crafted designs that make our customers’ operations more efficient, safe, and sustainable.

This is a remote position open to candidates based in Canada.

In this role, you will:

• Lead design strategy and execution of large, complex, ambiguous projects that have significant impact on our customers and business.
• Collaborate closely with product and engineering on strategy, planning, and execution.
• Work directly with customers to understand their needs, validate designs, and inform the strategy.
• Up-level the design team in skills, tools, and practice, while also instilling good design sense throughout the greater Samsara culture.
• Work directly with executive stakeholders on large initiatives and drive decision making.
• Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as the company scales globally across new offices.

Minimum requirements for the role:

• 8+ years of product design experience designing UX/UI for web & mobile applications.
• Deep expertise in interaction and visual design at the Staff level.
• A strong portfolio and / or case studies showcasing design craft and ability to solve user-problems with quantified impact. We cannot consider applications without a portfolio at this time.
• Figma fluency and excellence in prototyping.
• Leader in using AI tools (e.g. Cursor, Figma Make) to accelerate workflows, boost creativity, and prototype efficiently.
• Track record of strategic influence and shipping impact.
• Ability to engage effectively with customers for research and strategy.
• Thrives in iterative, fast-paced environments.
• Excellent proven experience working with cross-functional partners.

Samsara’s Compensation Philosophy: Samsara’s compensation program is designed to deliver Total Direct Compensation (based on role, level, and geography) that is at or above market. We do this through our base salary + bonus/variable + restricted stock unit awards (RSUs) for eligible roles. For eligible roles, a new hire RSU award may be awarded at the time of hire, and additional RSU refresh grants may be awarded annually.

We pay for performance, and top performers in eligible roles may receive above-market equity refresh awards which allow employees to achieve higher market.

The range of annual base salary for full-time employees for this position is below. Please note that base pay offered may vary depending on factors including your city of residence, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

$149,600—$205,700 CAD
