The candidate will focus on supporting Northleaf’s investment team across all aspects of the investment process including screening, reviewing, due diligence analysis and monitoring of private equity investments.

In addition to supporting investment activities, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain valuable business building experience by contributing to various business development activities of Northleaf’s rapidly growing business.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic professional to build upon their experience in a demanding but rewarding environment.

Day to day, your role may include:

  • Develop and / or reviews financial models to analyze secondaries and co‑investment investment opportunities (including testing assumptions and sensitivities)
  • Performing in-depth valuation analyses of private equity portfolios and private companies
  • Assisting with the preparation of due diligence materials and investment committee memos
  • Conducting due diligence on private equity funds and private company opportunities including industry, company and manager research
  • Meeting regularly with lead sponsors, company management and partners to review past performance, strategy, outlook, industry issues, and other relevant topics as required
  • Monitors ongoing valuation of portfolio investments
  • Contributing to ongoing business building initiatives (deal origination and deal flow management; due diligence processes; portfolio and risk management tools and systems; etc.)
  • Liaising with internal Northleaf Capital Partners colleagues, external fund managers and investors to support ongoing investment, marketing, and client service activities
Qualifications

  • Results orientated individual, with a proactive and creative approach to problem solving
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting research and collaborating with others to develop solutions
  • Strong judgment and critical thinking skills, with the ability to articulate and present points of view and ideas effectively
  • Proven ability to successfully multi-task with strong attention to detail
  • Highly self‑motivated, self‑directed; demonstrated ability to be proactive

Candidates with 2-4 years of work experience with a leading private equity, investment bank, accounting or global management consulting firm are strongly preferred. Prior secondaries investment experience is an asset but not required.
