Job summary
A leading financial institution in Mississauga is seeking a Manager for Insurance Reporting. This role involves preparing monthly journal entries, aiding auditors, and ensuring compliance with new reporting requirements. Candidates should possess a professional accounting designation and have at least 3 years of experience in financial services, along with exceptional Excel skills.

Our client, a leading financial institution in Mississauga, is looking for a Manager, Insurance Reporting for journal entry preparation (primary responsibility at the initial stage of the contract). The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.
- Preparation and analysis of monthly and quarterly journal entries, financial statements and reporting package requirements on a timely and accurate basis.
- Assist with external auditor requests and documentation as about interim and year-end audits.
- Active involvement with research and implementation of new / changes in reporting requirements. This can include revising or creating new journal entries, investigation of issues and other reporting changes.
- Drive process improvements through streamlining and enhance quality of work through documentation updates.
- Completion of a recognized professional accounting designation (CPA: CA, CGA, CMA) or equivalent experience (3 years)
- Minimum of 3 years of financial services industry experience in progressive finance roles
- Exceptional Excel skills
- Experience across financial analytic modeling systems (3 years)
- Excellent working knowledge of all Windows-based software with exceptional Excel skills and experience across financial analytic systems
- Excellent working knowledge of technical accounting tools such as Tableau
- Understanding of Insurance products and insurance accounting.
- Experience with PeopleSoft
- Experience with banks’ financial systems and analytical tools.
- Client-centric focus with strong initiative and self-motivated
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and balance conflicting priorities.
