Senior Corporate Accountant

Join our Vancouver-based accounting team as a Senior Corporate Accountant. This is a great opportunity for an established professional accountant with several years of progressive experience. We seek someone who takes pride in producing high-quality work and understands the importance of accurate information for effective decision-making. Our organizational structure is complex, so gathering all financial information is challenging, but you enjoy learning new things outside your comfort zone.

• Reporting to the Controller, Affiliates, and collaborating with the team to deliver financial reporting and analysis to senior leadership
• Cash management and bank reconciliations
• Preparing period-end journal entries and supporting working papers
• Facilitating timely month and quarter-end closings, working with other departments to acquire financial data
• Preparing individual and consolidated financial statements, including cash flow statements and notes
• Preparing materials for board meetings
• Supporting audits and liaising with external auditors
• Filing working capital forms, G/HST & QST returns, corporate income tax returns, and partnership returns
• Responding to routine inquiries from taxation authorities such as CRA and Revenue Québec
• Preparing budgets in consultation with management

• Undergraduate degree, preferably in commerce or business with a focus on accounting or finance
• Canadian CPA designation or equivalent
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, including preparing consolidated financial statements
• Knowledge of IFRS and ASPE
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Strong computer skills, especially MS Excel and accounting software like Yardi and/or Microsoft Dynamics
• Logical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to prioritize
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure, managing changes and deadlines

The starting salary for this position is $85,000, with an annual performance bonus. Further questions can be directed to HR during the interview process.
