Cowan Insurance Group is looking for a Commercial Account Assistant to join our Commercial Insurance Team! The successful candidate will provide administrative support on new and renewal accounts in partnership with Commercial Account Representatives to ensure client retention and timely customer service. You love the idea of working in a dynamic and fast paced environment! You are a people person who enjoys building long-lasting relationships with insurance carriers, industry leaders and your colleagues. You are detail-oriented with strong problem solving skills that will enable you to put together solid solutions for our clients.

What You Will Do

• Work closely with team to provide support on policy changes, renewals, new business, proposals, follow ups, binders, slips, finance contracts and scanning documents
• Ensure special attention is paid to timelines on preparation of liability slips, memorandums of insurance, certificates of insurance
• Support and update documentation in the Broker Management System (EPIC)
• Manage and respond to emails from Commercial Account Assistant inbox/queue
• Prioritize work received from (and other duties as assigned) by Manager, Commercial Account Representatives & Commercial Brokering
  
  

What You Will Bring

• RIBO license or ability to obtain
• Post-secondary education or equivalent experience.
• Previous experience with Broker Management System (EPIC) would be an asset
• Customer-centric, friendly and professional at all times
• Exceptional organization skills with an ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Excellent computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products
• Professional, responsive, and a positive work attitude is essential
• Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
• Ability to prioritize and manage time while working independently
• CIP, CAIB, CRM (or working towards designation) would be an asset
