Prior to 2020, virtual technology was used in the Courts to connect with correctional institutions, remand centers, vulnerable victims, witnesses, and individuals unable to travel to court locations. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the demand for virtual court proceedings increased significantly, leading to the establishment of new Alberta King's Bench Jury Court operations across Alberta. This involved renting and furnishing new facilities, and establishing IT and audio-visual services using Webex, Microsoft M365 Teams, and other software to enable safe jury trials during the pandemic. Court users include judiciary members, court staff, Ministry of Justice and Solicitor General staff, police, legal professionals, and the public, both within and outside Alberta.
The Province seeks a qualified Contractor to provide network support services at nine (9) Alberta locations. The workload is variable and unpredictable, with last-minute jury trial cancellations or additions. Notification will be provided at least one Business Day in advance. Weekend work may occasionally be required, but most work occurs during Business Days. Services may be needed at multiple locations simultaneously, so vendors must propose a team of resources. It is estimated that support services may be needed once or twice per month, though no work volume is guaranteed. The Province will supply pre-purchased equipment necessary for service delivery.
The proposed resources will manage daily planning, execution, and control of service work, selecting appropriate methodologies, techniques, and tools to ensure timely, within-budget, and quality-compliant completion.
Please provide three (3) references per submission, including Agency Name, POC, Phone, and Email.
The services are expected from February 1, 2025, to January 31, 2026.
All qualified applicants will be considered without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
