Valley Blacktop, a division of Terus Construction Ltd., is seeking an Asphalt Plant Groundman. This position is based in Revelstoke, BC.

• Safely unload hot oil form the delivery trucks.
• Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
• Operate front end loader, skid steer or other heavy equipment.
• Inspect and grease asphalt conveyors, and ensure equipment is functioning properly.
• Shovel asphalt and other plant materials.
• Responsible for plant production of materials, and ensures the efficient working condition of the plant.
• Inspect and grease asphalt conveyors, and ensure equipment is functioning properly.
• Ensure the timely delivery of oil, fuel, aggregates and supplies to the plant.
• Assists with stockpiling materials and feed the plant from the stockpiles in an efficient and productive manner.
• Operate front end loader, skid steer or other heavy equipment.
• Perform set up and take down of plants at different job sites as required.
• Perform other related duties as required.

• Minimum 2 to 3 years’ experience within the road construction industry
• 1 to 2 years as an Asphalt Plant Labourer, preferred.
• Valid class 5 driver’s license and clean current drivers abstract.
• Basic knowledge of mechanics and equipment repair.
• Knowledge of welding equipment, tools and methods
