Group Description:The Canadian Commercial Banking Industry Initiatives & Partnerships team consists of subject matter experts who advise the Commercial Banking salesforce and internal/external stakeholders, providing competitive advantages, speed-to-market, and superior risk management. The Agriculture Manager reports to this team, leveraging industry expertise and market knowledge to accelerate growth and manage risk in the agriculture sector.
Role Description:BMO Agriculture Managers serve as internal experts in agriculture for the Canadian Commercial Banking line of business. They evaluate the financial viability of farm operations, provide farm valuations for lending decisions, and support local commercial market teams by sharing insights on market conditions, industry trends, and regulatory changes to mitigate loan losses. The successful candidate must be a designated Professional Agrologist.
The role involves facilitating growth initiatives through business development and managing key client relationships, with a focus on revenue generation from sales and syndications. Responsibilities include:
- Developing new business via prospecting and cross-selling bank products and services
- Participating in community activities to enhance brand visibility and business opportunities
- Applying expertise in bank products, processes, and troubleshooting to ensure high client satisfaction
- Coordinating closings and serving as a daily escalation resource
- Advising clients on loan products, rates, terms, collateral, and cash management solutions
- Developing and managing relationships, planning for prospective clients, and managing pipelines
- Providing internal/external stakeholder expertise and regulatory oversight
- Analyzing financial data for proper structuring of bank products
- Monitoring performance, ensuring documentation accuracy, and reviewing loan applications
- Negotiating credit and service terms, ensuring compliance with policies
- Following up post-closing, supporting sales activities, and maintaining client information
- Assisting with sales administration, research, and solution development
- Ensuring seamless client experience and accurate billing
- Providing technical support and working independently on non-routine situations
Qualifications:Typically 5-7 years of relevant experience, post-secondary degree or equivalent, with deep industry knowledge. Must be a designated Professional Agrologist. Strong communication, collaboration, analytical, influence, and data-driven decision-making skills are required.
Salary: $68,000.00 - $126,000.00
