As a Banking Specialist, you’ll be responsible for executing and monitoring money movement activities for all ADP payroll platforms processing. The Associate collates and balances production reports, audit packages and is responsible for processing files then ensuring receipt at partner institutions. The Banking Specialist will also initiate escalation procedures when discrepancies are identified, and as needed during daily processing.

As part of the Canadian Money Movement BU, The Banking Services Team is responsible for the timely processing of all payment and receivable files resulting from client payroll processing. The department is also responsible for several exception activities and emergency payment services, as well as maintaining the relationship between ADP and our bank partners to ensure our business needs and bank commitments are being met.

What you’ll do: Responsibilities
  • Ensure that production reports are retrieved and balanced
  • Follow-up with internal departments for sign off approvals regarding payment processing
  • Ensure that all banking payment processing documentation and daily activity logs are updated
  • Create necessary disbursement and accounts receivable payment files in ADP systems
  • Process transmission files to Bank Partners ensuring that all critical bank deadlines are met
  • Validate output reports from payment transmissions using bank software; verify acknowledgement
  • Ensure that all blocked files and rejected items are identified and resolved
  • Initiate proper escalation procedures when discrepancies and system issues are identified
  • Prepare manual banking accounting entries as needed
  • Create refund batches and obtain the required approvals
  • Investigate outstanding balances on specific general ledger accounts in coordination with internal stakeholders
  • Actively support cross training program and demonstrate an eagerness to lean other duties to provide additional support and coverage
  • Must be flexible to work some weekends when required
TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE: Required Qualifications
  • Post Secondary education or equivalent experience
  • 2-3 years of business experience in Financial Services is an asset
  • Good understanding of debits and credits and basic reconciliation
  • Comfortable navigating multiple software systems simultaneously
  • Able to work in a high-volume, high-pressure environment
  • Able to work with little to no supervision
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
