Job summary
A leading global food company in Guelph, Ontario is hiring a Licensed Refrigeration Operator responsible for maintaining refrigeration systems and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. The ideal candidate must hold a 3rd Class Stationary Engineer or B Class Refrigeration License and be legally authorized to work in Canada. You will work a continental night shift and be involved in the safe operation of plant equipment. This role offers competitive pay and a sign-on bonus.

Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot equipment safely while abiding by all policies & procedures. As a B Class Refrigeration Operator, reporting to the Chief Refrigeration Engineer, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation/maintenance of all refrigeration systems, boilers and auxiliary equipment.

- Ability to work in varied environmental conditions such as dust, noise, hot and cold
- Comfortable working in a raw meat (beef & pork) manufacturing plant
- Basic computer and typing skills
- Proficient in the English language (reading and writing)
- Perform emergency duties if required and understand various uses of fire-fighting equipment
- Complete other related duties as assigned by the Chief Refrigeration Engineer
- Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
- Must be at least 18 years old
- 3rd Class Stationary Engineer or a B Class Refrigeration License is required
- Ability to work continental night shift (12 hours)
- Experience in food manufacturing environment and CFIA regulations
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a licensed Refrigeration Operator
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Available to work overtime and weekends (if required) to meet business needs
