Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years experience or basic technical knowledge (mechanical, electronics, and basic computer skills) typically gained through Electrical and / or Mechanical training.

Responsibilities

  • Assembly / testing of designated equipment according to order details.
  • Account for complete configuration as specified by order.
  • Test all functions to ensure full and proper functionality.
  • Address any special program requirements.
  • Affix identifying decals and prepare finished product for shipping.
  • Develop and maintain positive and effective communications with company personnel.
  • Promote and practice good customer relations.
  • Assist in equipment movement by loading / unloading, packing / unpacking.
  • Troubleshoot a machine with assistance.

Overview

The Pre Flight Technician prepares a broad range of new equipment for delivery, repairs customer equipment in house, and makes used equipment ready to be resold per policy. The Pre Flight Technician is responsible for the repair and service of designated equipment including high quality assurance. The position is responsible for the satisfactory completion of all required training programs for assembly and testing of all products in preparation for shipping to customer locations.

Responsibilities
  • Assembly / testing of designated equipment according to order details
  • Account for complete configuration as specified by order
  • Test all functions to ensure full and proper functionality
  • Address any special program requirements
  • Affix identifying decals and prepare finished product for shipping
  • Develop and maintain positive and effective communications with company personnel
  • Promote and practice good customer relations (internal customers such as other Supply Chain staff and other departments such as technical services)
  • As applicable, is responsible for the cleaning of copier components for field use (i.e. cleaning units and development units)
  • Communicate all unusual technical and / or customer related problems to immediate supervisor and / or technical specialist on a timely basis
  • Assist in equipment movement by loading / unloading, packing / unpacking, setting-up, and de-installation
  • Final sign-off for preflight completion
  • Troubleshoot a machine with assistance
  • Other duties as assigned by manager
