Store Manager – Retail

Responsible for directing daily store operations, managing staff, developing marketing strategies, and overseeing financial performance.

Location

Ottawa, ON K1K 1X1 – On‑site

Compensation

$43.75 per hour – 37.5 hours per week – Evening shift – Permanent employment – Full time

Responsibilities
  • Direct and control daily store operations
  • Evaluate daily operations
  • Plan and organize daily operations
  • Manage staff and assign duties
  • Study market research and trends to determine consumer demand, potential sales volumes and effect of competitors’ operations on sales
  • Determine merchandise and services to be sold
  • Implement price and credit policies
  • Locate, select and procure merchandise for resale
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies
  • Plan budgets and monitor revenues and expenses
  • Determine staffing requirements
  • Resolve issues that may arise, including customer requests, complaints and supply shortages
  • Recruit, hire and supervise staff and/or volunteers
  • Oversee payroll administration
  • Conduct performance reviews
  • Supervise office and volunteer staff
Qualifications

College or university diploma in a related field; 2–3 years of retail store management experience; excellent leadership, communication and problem‑solving skills; ability to work under pressure, handle heavy loads and stand for extended periods.
