Overview

Join Waterloo Honda as an Automotive Service Technician. Location: Waterloo, ON. Classification: Full Time, Onsite. Salary: $34-$38 per hour plus production bonus. Incentives include a busy shop with growing preowned volume and consistent new car volume. Training Bonus available for completion of required Honda training by the end of the probationary period.

Your area of focus

As an Automotive Service Technician, Red Seal, your primary responsibilities include diagnosing, testing, and repairing vehicle systems to ensure safety and functionality using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment. You will conduct preventative maintenance, inspect critical vehicle components such as brakes, fuel systems, and engines, and repair or replace parts as needed. You will mentor apprentices and maintain a safe and efficient work environment.

What drives your day-to-day
  • Perform vehicle repairs and/or maintenance work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and OEM standards.
  • Communicate with Parts and Service Advisors regularly to manage production/repairs, cycle times and customer communication.
  • Conduct multi-point inspections to make appropriate repair recommendations while ensuring safety and reliability before vehicles are returned to customers.
  • Document all work performed on the vehicle repair order in a manner consistent with OEM standards; ensure warranty work is processed as required by the manufacturer.
  • Maintain an inventory of common tools not normally inventoried by the Service department as a “store-provided” piece of equipment.
  • Stay informed of factory technical bulletins and participate in factory-sponsored training as required.
  • Provide an exceptional repair experience to drive customer loyalty and department revenue.
Qualifications
  • Strong knowledge across various makes and models.
  • Provincially recognized Journeyman Automotive Mechanic Certificate (completed or in process).
  • Red Seal Certification is an asset.
  • Completion of related post-secondary program or training courses.
  • Professional demeanor and strong work ethic.

  • Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
