Overview

Job Description

As a Senior Manager, Chief Investment Office Finance you will play a central role within the Total Fund Management team of the Chief Investment Office of RBC Insurance. You will be responsible for the Finance aspects of the Chief Investment Office, including capital management, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), and budget oversight.

This position will provide insights and support on financial strategy while collaborating with senior leaders and will have the unique opportunity to support the Chief Investment Office in managing and reporting on critical financial aspects of RBC Insurance.

Your work will directly contribute to the effective management of capital, risk, and performance within the Chief Investment Office.

Responsibilities
  • Lead duration of equity risk reporting and rebalancing by legal entity, including currency impacts, in collaboration with Corporate Treasury.
  • Provide front office perspectives on excess capital and dividend strategy in collaboration with Risk and the CFO Office.
  • Develop and deliver OCI (Other Comprehensive Income) forecasting by portfolio, providing explanations for deviations vs. plan (e.g., credit spreads, interest rates).
  • Partner with Data Analytics to build front office view of forecasted PnL by portfolio, including variance explanations.
  • Collaborate with CFO Office on Non-Interest Expense planning, providing progress updates and management commentary.
  • Own the annual IFRS9 Solely Payments of Principal and Interest (SPPI) testing process.
Qualifications

Must-have

  • 6-8 years of progressive experience in treasury, accounting, capital management, FP&A, or asset management.
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant field (Finance, Accounting, Economics, etc.).
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience explaining PnL, budget utilization, and forecasts to stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with senior leaders and influence financial strategy across business units.

Nice-to-have

  • Technical Master’s degree (Finance, Economics, etc), CFA or Risk designation.
  • Experience with IFRS9 SPPI testing and financial risk management processes.
  • Exposure to product pricing and embedded risk considerations.
  • Proficiency with Data Science and analytical tools (Python, Snowflake, Tableau, Power BI).
