We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our small and highly engaged team – we enjoy our work and the people we work with. The successful candidate will be a dedicated, process-driven accounting professional who takes satisfaction in creating and maintaining strong financial reports and is able to balance current needs with long term goals.

The Senior Accountant will have primary day-to-day responsibility for all corporate and project-related accounting functions for up to twelve development projects, with the support of our wonderful 3rd party bookkeepers. This role will potentially allow for rapid progression within a small and rapidly growing development team. Reporting to the Founding Principal, your responsibilities would include:

Responsibilities
  • All aspects of corporate accounting including invoicing, bank, loan schedules, monthly reports, cashflows, budgets, AP/AR, and GST filings.
  • All aspects of project accounting including preparation of monthly claims, project reports (cost tracking/cashflow), AP, and funder reports as required.
  • Providing support to our non-profit clients and their bookkeeping/accounting team members.
  • Assisting external accountants with preparation of year-end (Compilation Engagement) financial statements.
  • Corresponding with CRA, our financial institutions, and external resources as needed.
  • Provide analysis to support the company with its business-related decisions.
  • Special projects as required.

Qualifications/Experience
  • CPA designation, with a minimum of five to ten years accounting experience.
  • Work experience that demonstrates the above qualities and skills - directly relevant work experience in real estate development would be preferable.
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel and QuickBooks Online skills. QuickBooks Desktop experience would be beneficial.
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of $90-105K/year with three weeks of vacation to start, a comprehensive health and wellness allowance, and a hybrid work environment (our office is centrally located in Downtown Vancouver near the Burrard Skytrain).
