Overview

Nimble Information Strategies Inc and Space Concepts Inc are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our Finance team within a multi-entity organization. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Senior Accountant will be responsible for handling the day-to-day accounting, managing financial reporting processes, running payroll, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements for all corporate entities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, and the ability to thrive in a demanding environment.

Responsibilities
  • Own the day-to-day accounting across entities: AP/AR, bank reconciliations and payroll
  • Ensure payroll, T4's, ROE, vacation calculations and statutory remittances; ensure compliance with all requirements
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions, including invoicing, billing, and expense management
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Canadian ASPE
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial data
  • Assist with annual budgeting process and prepare regular forecasts to support financial planning and decision making
  • Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate the annual audit process and address any audit findings or recommendations
  • Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with all tax laws and regulations
  • Prepare and monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to support business operations and strategic initiatives
  • Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and industry best practices and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives and business growth opportunities
  • Continuously improve accounting and financial processes to support organizational growth
  • Assist the CFO in special projects and initiatives as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • Working towards CPA designation is strongly preferred
  • 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a multi-entity environment
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian ASPE and financial accounting principles
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; ADP experience as asset
  • Meticulous attention to detail, excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively in a dynamic and challenging environment
  • Continuous improvement mindset and collaborative approach
