The Position

Reporting to the National Sales Manager, the Representative – Specialty Care is responsible for achieving annual sales and business objectives within his / her geography.

These objectives are achieved through partnering with physicians and other healthcare professionals in and beyond teaching and community hospitals and clinics, with the goal of changing prescribing behaviors, increasing adoption of Specialty Care products, closing health care gaps and improving patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

Effectively demonstrates ownership for the business of the assigned territory by :

fully understanding the health care environment,

assessing and identifying key customers (Health Care Professionals)

engaging in the right mix of activities in support of assigned Specialty Care

product(s) while ensuring a customer-focused approach.

Shares geographical team responsibilities and contributes to the development and implementation of action plans to achieve organizational goals. The ability to work in both a team environment, as well as individually, is essential.

The incumbent will complete his / her tasks in a manner fully consistent with our company’s commitment to its Code of Conduct, Our Values and Standards, policies, procedures, industry standards and all laws and regulations.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills

Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline.

Proven track record in pharmaceutical sales.

Proven understanding of the reimbursement system for Specialty Care products.

Ability to analyze, produce, execute and track a territory business plan.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Possesses strong business acumen, territory management, and strategic thinking skills.

A proven track record of performance excellence in meeting targets and objectives.

Able to rapidly develop durable customer relationships and build stakeholder networks across key accounts.

Ability to succeed in a competitive, dynamic, and fast-paced market space. Demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit and growth mindset.

Good knowledge of the industry standards, laws, and regulations

Proficiency in Office technology and territory management tools

Ability to regularly travel provincially and occasionally nationally-internationally.

Valid Driver’s license

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills

Experience in biosimilars and / or specialty medicine, particularly in oncology, ophthalmology, gastroenterology, etc., is a strong asset.

A good understanding of Patient Support Programs and their role in the patient journey is an asset.
