Our Ottawa client is seeking Real Estate Development Lawyer to join their team.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with real estate developers (commercial and residential) with their raw land and infill development needs, developing and executing sale, purchase, and financing transactions, providing advice and recommendations on corporate, partnership, and joint venture structures, as well as municipal law and policy, and advising on other real estate development matters. They will be involved in all aspects of commercial and residential real estate: land acquisition, development, financing, leasing, structuring, and sale processes. They will be experienced in land purchases and sales, financing and joint venture structures, developments including cost sharing arrangements for owner groups, volume sales of residential lots, raw land development and infill redevelopment. They will also have experience in aspects of municipal law including land use planning, expropriation, municipal property tax assessment and municipal finance including site-specific and broad development policy issues, and related development matters including disputes. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of related legal experience, preferably gained at a law firm doing commercial real estate development work.
