HOURS - 37.5 hours per week, four 10-hour day shifts of 8:00am to 6:00pm. Wednesday to Saturday Rotation. Some flexibility in hours may be required.

How You Will Make an Impact

The Rapid Mobile Case Manager will provide support to families staying in City funded overflow hotel spaces.

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with landlords and property managers to expand housing opportunities.
  • Accompany clients to housing viewings and provide guidance during the selection process.
  • Assist clients in completing rental applications and understanding lease agreements.
  • Create personalized housing plans in collaboration with shelter residents to support successful transitions to permanent housing.
  • Provide housing-based case management, crisis prevention, and supportive counseling.
  • Advocate for clients and connect them with community resources and services.
  • Ensure compliance with overflow hotel policies and maintain safety plans as needed.
  • To observe all Good Shepherd health and safety rules and work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations to minimize risk to clients, staff and others as well as to the property of the Good Shepherd
What You'll Bring to Our Team
  • Post-secondary education in Social Services or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working in community outreach or emergency shelter
  • Preferred prior knowledge of and experience working with a range of issues impacting children including homelessness, violence against women and children, immigration, poverty, developmental needs, parenting, behavior management, mental illness and harm reduction
  • Skill in effective de-escalation and crisis management and the ability to communicate effectively and establish relationships with clients and team members
  • Commitment to and experience working within a person-centered, trauma-informed, harm reduction and housing first framework
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills, verbal and written communication, time management and organization, and ability to prioritize workload
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
  • CPR certification or willingness to be certified is required
  • Valid G license required
  • Fluency in a 2nd language is an asset
