Job Description

Are you ready to play a key role in one of Canada’s most significant defense programs? We’re looking for an Associate Procurement Specialist to join our team and support the full lifecycle of procurement activities for the RCD program. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on systems, equipment, and materials that shape the future of naval capability.

Responsibilities

As an Associate Procurement Specialist, you will manage a portfolio of low to medium complexity procurement packages and be responsible for:

  • Strategic Sourcing: Conduct research and analysis to develop optimal sourcing strategies for your assigned portfolio.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams to provide clear, timely advice and ensure schedule adherence.
  • Supplier Management: Handle pre‑qualification, engagement, negotiations, and performance management to ensure on‑time delivery.
  • Procurement Events: Develop and execute RFIs and RFPs, ensuring cost and schedule objectives are met.
  • Contract Management: Prepare contracts, lead or support negotiations, draft executive briefings, and manage post‑award activities.
  • Commercial Administration: Oversee purchase orders and invoice reviews to maintain accuracy and compliance.
Qualifications
  • Post‑secondary education in Supply Chain and Logistics (preferred).
  • Introductory knowledge of end‑to‑end supply chain and procurement processes.
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience with a proven ability to complete assigned tasks.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.

Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Please note this position requires a full-time, in-office presence.
