The Opportunity

We're looking for a strong technical leader to oversee the development, support, and evolution of Medavie's core applications. The Manager, Application Development & Operations leads a team of technology professionals responsible for delivering, supporting, and evolving Medavie's core applications. This role blends people leadership, product ownership, and hands‑on engagement with complex systems. You'll guide the development and operation of enterprise‑level applications, ensure stability and performance, and collaborate closely with business partners to align technology solutions with organizational goals. Success in this role requires strong technical acumen, experience managing diverse development teams, and the ability to drive both day‑to‑day operations and long‑term product strategy.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of analysts, developers, architects, and team leads.
  • Build a collaborative, high‑performance team culture.
  • Oversee application development, support, and operational activities.
  • Serve as product owner for assigned applications and maintain a prioritized roadmap.
  • Work with business partners to understand needs, identify gaps, and shape product direction.
  • Ensure adherence to software development processes and best practices.
  • Manage budgets and allocate resources effectively.
  • Support long‑term planning, business cases, and improvement initiatives.
What You Bring

Education: University degree or college diploma in Computer Science or a related field.

Experience & Skills
  • 10+ years in IT, including leadership of technical teams.
  • Experience working in complex, multi‑system environments.
  • Strong people and business leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of software engineering processes and methodologies.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and sound decision‑making abilities.
  • Customer‑focused mindset with a drive for innovation.
Language

English proficiency; Bilingual is an asset.

Security Clearance Requirement

In conjunction with our contract with the Federal Government, you will be required to have Reliability Status Clearance (Enhanced Level B). This includes Fingerprinting, Criminal Record Check, Credit Check and you must have resided in Canada for at least 5 years and hold Permanent Resident or Citizenship Status.

Pay Range

119,013 - 132,236 CAD
