Job Description

Reporting to the Lodge Manager or designate, the Area Supervisor, Maintenance is responsible for overseeing Facility Management’s multi‑site maintenance operations, providing leadership and support to mobile and on‑site maintenance teams with highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes. This position is responsible for the coordination of the day to day on‑site maintenance team activities to ensure effective scheduling and execution of maintenance work to minimize cost, drive productivity, quality assurance and to promote a high level of customer satisfaction in accordance with the expectations and goals of Dexterra Group INC.

This position is safety sensitive, and will require drug and alcohol testing as a condition of employment.

Oversee and coordinate all maintenance activities for multiple remote camp sites, ensuring full compliance with the company’s IMTR plan.

  • Provide leadership and support to the mobile and on‑site maintenance team, coordinating day‑to‑day maintenance team activities ensuring timely scheduling and execution of day‑to‑day work.
  • Provide guidance to mobile and on‑site maintenance team on CMMS system, quality assurance and cost control.
  • Act as a resource to the maintenance team, to provide technical advice and to assist in resolving day‑to‑day maintenance issues.
  • Ensure mobile and on‑site maintenance team employees are updating and entering data for work in CMMS System.
  • Provide direction to the maintenance team, ensuring that all tasks are completed safely and efficiently in line with Horizon North policies, procedures and regulatory or other governmental agencies.
  • Work closely and liaise with Maintenance Planners, ensure timely scheduling of maintenance work. Provide recommendations for maintenance department procedure improvements and implementations.
  • Communicate with Maintenance Planners, providing information for the development of quality site maintenance plans for the efficient scheduling and execution of on‑site maintenance work.
  • In cooperation with the Maintenance Planners, measure and report team’s on‑site maintenance achievements, to ensure all necessary data is captured for Horizon North’s management team and clients.
  • Keep current with industrial, technological and legislative changes.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
  • Completion of a four‑year college program in project management, Journeyman status in the construction industry or similar area of study; or 6 to 8 years of relevant experience and training.
  • Three years professional maintenance management experience in mobile services in remote locations with proven leadership abilities.
  • Five years technical knowledge and operational experience.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in maintenance leadership or superintendent‑level role, preferably in remote or industrial camp environments.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical infrastructure.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and recordkeeping.
  • Valid Journeyman trade certification (Electrical, Millwright, Plumbing, HVAC) considered an asset.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple sites and priorities.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and reporting skills.
  • Willingness to travel and work on rotational schedules in remote Northern environments.
  • Must possess a valid class driver’s license with a clean abstract and be flexible to travel.
