We are looking for a Director of Traffic who is ready to lead the team responsible for end-to-end broadcast scheduling for 73 radio stations across 7 provinces. This position reports directly to the CFO.
Our ideal candidate will be a WideOrbit expert with a strategic mindset and a talent for leadership who will drive revenue, efficiency, and cross-departmental success. The Director of Traffic position will ideally be based in Toronto, but consideration will be given to candidates located anywhere Stingray Radio has an office. Your day-to-day
- Oversee the end-to-end traffic operations for broadcast scheduling, leading the team to ensure accuracy, efficiency and compliance with our 73 radio stations.
- Act as the primary liaison between Programming, Creative and Sales to coordinate projects, optimize workflows, and meet strategic goals.
- Provide ongoing mentorship, training and performance support to team members, fostering professional growth and operational excellence.
- Conduct regular quality control audits within WideOrbit to maintain data integrity and enhance system performance.
- Lead the annual external audit compliance testing process for the WideOrbit system and ensure the proper authorization and control environment exists year-round.
- Deliver ongoing software training for Sales Managers to maximize productivity and support sales objectives.
- Maintain and optimize the WideOrbit database, ensuring it meets evolving business and broadcast requirements.
- Provide timely support for all Wide Orbit users addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
Your qualifications
- Proven ability to manage commercial inventory effectively to maximize advertising revenue.
- Expert-level understanding of the WideOrbit software system, including a minimum of 7-10 years in a senior traffic role managing commercial logs for major market radio stations across diverse programming formats.
- Adept at analyzing and improving traffic and log workflows to enhance accuracy and productivity.
- Excellent command of Microsoft Excel for manipulating large datasets and generating insightful reporting to support business objectives.
- Experience leading a team, leading by example with integrity and accountability, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.
- A strong collaborative spirit with the ability to work creatively with Sales, Programming, and other departments to problem-solve and ensure seamless execution of station initiatives.
